KRis BREWER

I grew up in the mountains of Southern California.

I’ve created and exhibited paintings, prints and sculptural work in New York, Los Angeles, and the Bay Area for the past 30 years.

My father was an architect, award-winning chef and restauranteur. My mother was a teacher, musician, and a lover of books.

My parents exposed us to fine art and architecture as well as great literature during travels to far-flung places.

My grandmother was a gifted painter, but felt discouraged to pursue her passion and hid away to create art.

I wish I had known her as an artist.

From my father, mother and grandmother, I’ve caught the urge to create; to dream big, form order from chaos, to become disciplined, determined and courageous.

To create art is a radical act.

At times it doesn’t make sense to me. Other times it’s the only thing that does.
